Dealing with workplace harassment and sexual harassment has become increasingly challenging and risky for employers to navigate. Public awareness of high-profile cases, #Metoo and #Timesup movement activity, enhanced legislative protections and expanded employee entitlements have emboldened those experiencing and observing this type of misconduct in the workplace misconduct to bring their issues forward. Given the changes in the legal and social climate, and the rise in workplace complaints and incidents, it is critical for organizations to understand how to proactively contain this type of misconduct and ensure their Boards are aware of the obligations and increased legal risks when organizations do not meet requirements to protect their employees.

During this webinar, delegates will:

  • Review key concepts and how legal requirements and liabilities related to workplace harassment and sexual harassment have recently expanded
  • Identify common ways in which organizations typically mishandle harassment and sexual harassment issues in the workplace and create costly consequences as a result
  • Discuss strategies to ensure that the Board is informed of requirements, enhanced exposures and proper protocols when these issues arise in the workplace
  • Explore methods to effectively set conduct expectations within the workplace to proactively mitigate harassment-related risks
